Why OnePlus is launching the 5T only five months after its last flagship phone

"When we launched the OnePlus 5, there was no plan to release the OnePlus 5T," Kyle Kiang, OnePlus' head of global marketing, told me a week before the new phone's splashy launch event in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

It's a peculiar admission, but it fits perfectly with the Chinese startup's motto to "Never Settle." OnePlus' unwavering mission to deliver the latest technologies as soon as possible not only keeps its products up to date with the latest mobile trends, but puts the heat on the Samsung's of the world to deliver experiences that'll justify spending $1,000 on a new phone.

Apple finally lets visitors onto its ‘spaceship’ campus

Steve Jobs' last big project is finally ready for the public — but you have to go to Cupertino to see it.

I'm talking, of course, about Apple's famed "spaceship" campus. Though employees moved in months ago, and Apple launched the iPhone X in the newly minted Steve Jobs Theatre, none of the campus has been open to the public — until now.

On Friday, Apple officially opened the doors of Apple Park's Visitor Center — the public face of the company's storied new headquarters — and the Apple faithful were there in full force to savor the moment.

These $99 true wireless earbuds are cheaper and sound better than AirPods

There are three reasons why Apple's AirPods are considered the best true wireless earbuds you can buy: They're small, pair really easily to iOS devices, and only cost $159.

Everyone from Samsung to Jaybird to Bose have their own alternatives, but they cost even more. $159 for AirPods is a great price, but Crazy Baby, the company behind that crazy Mars levitating Bluetooth speaker, thinks it can offer even better sound for an even lower $99.

You may not have heard about Crazy Baby, but they've actually got some experience building true wireless earbuds. Read more...

Ron Paul is now selling your grandparents Bitcoin on Fox News

Because nothing says legitimacy like a 30-second informercial, everyone's favorite racist grandpa has taken to Fox News to push the latest retirement-savings proposal to 68-year-olds across this great nation. And just what is it that Ron Paul is pushing, exactly? Why that would be Bitcoin.

That's right, the former congressman is shilling for Bitcoin on Fox News. But not just any old cryptocurrency will do for the man terrified of the Federal Reserve. Nope, Paul wants you to put your hard-earned bucks into a "Bitcoin IRA."

Boston Dynamics robot is ready to get backflipping revenge on tormentors

Atlas has been working on its moves.

The humanoid robot from Boston Dynamics that was once beat up by a jerk human and later stumbled on stage during an important presentation is now jumping and flipping like it's nothing.

With its slick new moves, Atlas may just be plotting its revenge for that ill-conceived abuse from its handler last year.

Earlier this week, Boston Dynamics shared a video of its dog-like SpotMini smoothly trotting through a backyard, kneeling, and looking right at the camera. It was creepy.

The only clue about what's going on with Boston Dynamics in the latest video is the video headline: "What's new, Atlas?" It seems to hint that the robot is undergoing upgrades and major improvements. Read more...

Twitter confirms it’s testing a tweetstorm feature

As if upping its character limit to 280 wasn't enough, Twitter is testing a dedicated feature to make it easier for users to tweetstorm.

The test first surfaced in September, but Twitter is now confirming the experiment, which is currently live only to people who are part of Twitter's Experiments Program

The latest version of the feature, which was spotted by Android Police, allows users to add multiple tweets to a single thread using a new "+" icon in the tweet composer. It's not clear if it limits you to a specific number of tweets, though it appears each one has the same 280-character limit as the rest of Twitter. Read more...
